In this article, we will study the main application iBeacon parameters and parameter modification issues of Bluetooth low energy devices. First of all, we need to understand the relevant knowledge of the mainstream Bluetooth beacons in the following markets. Mainstream Bluetooth beacons: 1. iBeacon: Apple's product, based on Bluetooth Low Energy technology. Advantages: simple and easy to use. Disadvantages: can only rely on the IOS platform, the signal is easily interfered by obstacles; 2. EddyStone: Google's product, intended to form an open standard. Advantages: Both Android platform and IOS platform can be used, with richer functions. Disadvantages: more complicated. 3. AltBeacon: Produced by Radius Network. Advantages: The platform is not restricted. Main parameters of iBeacon: In the last part, we learned about the types of mainstream Bluetooth beacons in the market, but we will not explain them fully here. Only the meaning of the main parameters in the broadcast package of the iBeacon device and the modification of the parameters are introduced here. 1. Company: The company identifier is a unique identifier assigned to each member by the Bluetooth Alliance (SIG). Details view: Company Identifiers 2. UUID: iBeacon device UUID, UUID is a universal device unique identifier. Generally, the UUID of iBeacon is divided into 16-bit, 32-bit and 128-bit. Generally, the UUID is a hexadecimal string, which means that the value range is: [0,F], see: Generic Access Profile 3. Major: The Major of the iBeacon device, also known as the major value. Equivalent to the group number. Beacon in the same group has the same Major. Value range: [0, 65535]; 4. Minor: The Minor of the iBeacon device, also known as the minor value. It is equivalent to identifying a single Beacon in the group. Value range: [0, 65535]; 5. RSSI at 1m: The broadcast check value of the iBeacon device, used to estimate the distance between the peripheral device and the central device, usually a negative value, the value range is: [-128, 127]; 6. Tx Power Level: the broadcast power of the iBeacon device. The higher the broadcast power setting, the greater the coverage area and the greater the power consumption. Power value range: {-40, -30, -20, -16, -12, -8, -4, 0, 4};
