I would say in hi-end audio, in most cases, expensive gears are usually better. Synergy applies both to expensive and budgeted systems. It matters even more in hi-end systems as they are usually more revealing. A mis-matched hi-end system can easily allude to the believing that expensiveness isn’t always better. Well maybe the real issue is not about the linearity between price and performance but how the system is assembled. Or paradoxically, we could always argue whether the marginal gain is worthy of the extra loads of money paid from a budgeted system up to an hi-end system. |
