The KuraDa KD-OR12 is the headphone was initally ordered by a single headphone enthusiast and started to be produced by KuraDa. It was the birth of this headphone that has become the base of KD-P1. As a result of all the research and development of the KD-OR12 it was established that mass production of OR12 should be started. The resulting product, which received exceptionally high priase by the original owner is now called the "KD-P1".
It adopts a fully open type housing that does not cause extra sound or resonance. All the main parts of the housing are cut out from the chunk of A 7075 (Ultra duralumin) and produced. All moving parts are supported by stainless steel bearings, eliminating any noise or distortion, and move smoothly. In order to obtain a sufficiently low frequency response while it is a fully open design, KuraDa have had to develop a brand new driver unit. Adopting a neodymium magnet with strong magnetic energy and by thinning the thickness of the diaphragm whilst maintaining durability, it is possible to deliver precise sound accurately. In addition to the apparent design impact, it is designed on research to obtain the best sound quality from various viewpoints such as the rigidity of the housing, the angle of the driver unit mounting abd the distance to the ear.
